Born in South Korea and adopted as a baby, I grew up in a small town in the Midwest. A reader above all else, I became a writer at age 6 with a poem about my cat. I wrote endless stories and put on puppet shows with my two younger brothers. Restless to see the world, I sprinted to California for college where I’ve been ever since. In San Francisco, I fell under the spell of indie filmmaking. But writing is my first love, so I moved to beautiful downtown Los Angeles for the long-form storytelling in TV. I write about outsiders and misfits who forge their own way ahead and decide what defines them rather than what society dictates.
